Products

Are you a producer of your meats?
No, we do not raise livestock. We work in partnership with local producers who have many years of experience and networking from the chef-owner of the restaurant Hoogan et Beaufort, Marc-André Jetté.

Where do your meats come from?
All our meats come from producers in Quebec, except for some beef products that come from Prince Edward Island.

Is it more advantageous to order a box rather than an individual product?
Yes, a box will allow you to get several different cuts at a better price compared to buying an individual product. Additionally, boxes help to value the animal in its entirety.

Can the contents of the boxes be customized?
No, the contents of the boxes are predetermined in advance based on the supply from our suppliers in order to value the whole animal.

What does "AAA" mean?
The term "AAA" comes from a classification of meat quality, where this quality is ranked in 4 categories: "A", "AA", "AAA", and "Prime". The more marbled the meat is, the more flavorful it will be, and the better it will be ranked. At Édouard et Léo, only "AAA" and "Prime" grade products are offered.

What is dry-aged meat?
There are 3 ways to age meat: air-dried, dry-aged, and vacuum-sealed. Dry aging is done in an open environment by controlling the humidity level, which allows the meat to tenderize and develop its flavor.

How long can I keep my meat in the freezer?
There is no risk in consuming frozen foods for too long if they are well packaged. However, their flavors and nutritional values deteriorate over time. Depending on the products, it is recommended to consume them within 3 to 6 months after freezing to maintain optimal quality.

What is the best way to defrost meat?
The safest way to defrost meat is in the refrigerator, 24 hours before consuming it. Your meats will lose less water and maintain their quality at its best. It is also possible to defrost meat in a cold water bath to speed up the process. However, it is preferable to cook it quickly after defrosting to avoid the development of bacteria.

How long can I keep my meat in the refrigerator before consuming it?
For optimal quality of our fresh products, it is best to consume or freeze them within 3 to 5 days of receipt. For a product that has just been thawed, consumption within 24 to 48 hours after thawing is recommended.

Do you perform cuts and processing of all your meats?
Yes, all meat cuts and their processing are done by our master butchers and our chefs.

Are all your processed products homemade?
All processed products are homemade by our master butchers, our chefs, and charcutiers.

 

Packaging

Are your packaging materials recyclable?
Yes, all our packaging is recyclable.

How is your meat packaged?
All our meats are vacuum packed for delivery and in recyclable paper when picked up at the counter.

Are your meats individually packaged?
All our meats are packaged according to the formats displayed on the website. Most products are individually packaged. However, it is possible to request the format and cut you want when you go to the branch.

 

Delivery

What is the area served by the delivery?

The serviced area is Greater Montreal.

What is the delivery time?
All our deliveries are made according to predetermined time slots. We deliver every day of the week during two time slots, 2 PM - 5 PM or 5 PM - 9 PM.

Are there delivery fees?
Delivery fees of $15 (fifteen) apply for orders between $25 and $149.99.
No delivery charges for orders of $150 or more in the serviced area.

Can I send an order as a gift to a friend?
Yes, just mention it in the comments and provide the delivery address accordingly.

Is it possible to have it delivered to the office?
Yes, as long as the address is within the area served by our delivery service and you notify us at least 48 hours in advance in the case of a change of delivery address.

Can someone pick up my order for me?
Yes, someone can collect the order for you. It will then be necessary to have the proof of purchase on hand.

What happens if I cannot be present on the day of delivery?
If you cannot be at your home at the chosen time, please contact us by phone (514-838-6996) or by email (info@edouardetleo.com) as soon as possible. In the event that you are not present at the time of delivery and you did not answer the delivery person's call, your order will be returned to our premises. An email will be sent to you regarding this. You will have 48 hours to pick up your order or the option of a new delivery at a cost of $15 according to the next available delivery time slot.

What happens if I cannot show up on the pickup day?
If you cannot show up on the pickup day, please inform us as soon as possible. Your order will then be set aside for a maximum period of 24 hours for you to come and collect it. However, we are not responsible for the loss of freshness caused by this delay. After 24 hours following the pickup date, the pickup points are no longer responsible for the order.

How do you carry out your deliveries?
All our deliveries are made through our internal delivery system.

Do I need to create an account to order on your site?
You can create an account to make entering your information easier, but it is not required to place an order.

Is there a minimum amount for an order?
Yes, an amount of $25 will be required to place an order.

Is there a maximum number of items I can order?
No, there is no limit on the number of items per order. However, the different items are available until stocks run out.

Do we receive a confirmation email after placing the order?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation email once the order is confirmed, and you will receive another email once the order is shipped for delivery.

What to do if I haven't received a confirmation email?
If you haven't received a confirmation email, please contact us by email or phone on the same day or within 24 hours of your purchase to confirm your order.

Can I cancel an order?
Yes, you must send an email or contact us by phone at least 48 hours in advance.

Can I change my order if I have already sent it?
Yes, it is possible to modify your order, as long as it is done at least 24 hours before the delivery day.

Can I choose the delivery day for my order?
Yes, we deliver every day of the week during two time slots of your choice, 2 PM - 5 PM or 5 PM - 9 PM.

How far in advance can I place an order?
You can order up to 3 weeks in advance.

What payment methods are accepted?
Only credit card payment is accepted.

Are taxes applied to your products?
There are no taxes on our meats and products that must be handled or processed by our customers. However, taxes are applied to our ready-to-eat products.
