Beans with bacon

Don't bother waiting all those long hours for your childhood’s signature dish to be ready. Enjoy this old-fashioned recipe, inspired by the Abenaki who used game fat and maple sap to cook their beans. This recipe has been adopted in Quebec in its two varieties: with molasses and maple syrup!

In a small pot, heat water to around 60°. Place the bag of stew directly in the water and reheat for 15 minutes. Do not let the water boil. Once everything is heated, remove the bag from the water and cut it to pour its contents into a serving dish.
